Devon U15 Girls v Somerset - Match Report 2015
Returning once again to Plymouth College on a warmer and a much less windier day, Devon faced Somerset; their first since their meeting in the T20 Competition in May, where the Devon girls were so successful.

With renewed determination to not only bat their overs, but attempt to reduce their extras, Devon went into bat, having loss the toss. It was not quite the start of their innings, Devon was hoping for with the loss of their opener on the first ball! However opener Chloe Rose supported Ellie Ingham-Hill (55) coming in at three, as did Immy Beasley (42). With a tumble of wickets in the middle order, both Millie Attwell (13) and Carmen Clements (16) steadied the innings for a few overs. Unfortunately the girls were 5 balls short of batting their 40 overs; with Somerset's Jodie Filer the best of their bowlers with 3 wickets. Devon finished on 198.

After a spectacular tea provided by the Devon girls, Somerset went into bat. Both Devon struggled with the ball, and the wides continued to mount up, but scoring runs proved difficult for Somerset too. With the first change of bowlers, Sophie Florides (5-0-25-2) and player of the match and captain, Ellie Ingham-Hill (5.1-1-16-6) began to dismantle Somerset's innings. Without even reaching drinks at 20, Somerset had been bowled out for 90, with only 47 coming from their batting.

Though Devon were unable to bat their overs or reduce their wides, they will happily take their win over Somerset, winning by 108 runs!
